If you've configured PagerDuty and linked services or environments to FireHydrant, you now have the ability to open an incident on FireHydrant that is tied to an incident in PagerDuty. In this guide we'll learn how.
Create an Incident
When you're opening an incident via the UI of FireHydrant, you'll be presented a box of alerts if any are currently opened or acknowledged .
When you check off an alert and open the incident, the alert will used to track the detected, acknowledged, and resolved states from PagerDuty. This means when you mark an incident as resolved in PagerDuty, it will automatically be marked as resolved in FireHydrant.
When you open the incident, you'll see the alert on the Overview tab linked. You can click "Acknowledged" to get to the original alert in PagerDuty as well.
When an alert is linked as primary, it is used to track all of the states in FireHydrant as well. If you don't want an incident to automatically transition when the linked alert does, you can uncheck this box.
Also, when you tie alerts to incidents, any infrastructure in FireHydrant that is linked to that alert will automatically be assigned to the incident as well.
