In this onboarding tutorial, we'll quickly go over how to set up FireHydrant's integration with Slack.

FireHydrant offers an integration to fully interact with our platform, allowing FH to act as your scribe during an incident response. This lets your engineers stay in Slack while ensuring they aren't missing out on any of the insights that we provide!

This can be done in 2 simple steps.

Step 1:

Head over to the Slack integration set-up page and click "Authenticate Slack". From here, simply follow the link to install the Slack app onto your workspace. Make sure that you have the proper Slack Workspace selected by checking the top right-hand corner of the authentication page.

Step 2:

Link your Slack Account with your FireHydrant account by typing the following in Slack (required for associating the Slack user to the FireHydrant user):

/firehydrant link

Note: Users on Slack must also be users of the FireHydrant app in order to link their account.

That's it! Now you'll be able to run any of the commands that our Slack Bot uses. Next, we'll quickly run through how to respond to an incident right from Slack.
